Jasmijn Rijcken, a spicy little tart from the Netherlands (and manager of the VANMOOF Bike Company), was in town recently for the New Amsterdam Bike Show. While riding her bicycle in SoHo she was stopped by an NYPD officer, who threatened to give her a citation for wearing a skirt.
“I was standing next to my bike … and then this police guy stops and starts telling me about my skirt,” Rijcken said.
“At first I thought he was making a joke or maybe even a compliment, but then I found out he was serious because he got really mad.”
The police officer allegedly told Rijcken that her skirt could distract drivers and cause car accidents.
“That was the bottom line, that I was very dangerous,” she said.
He’s right, you know. Girls in skirts are very dangerous. It’s a wonder that men can even walk down the street in the summertime without crashing into light poles, trash cans, and parked cars. Just thinking about it is making it hrad torite this acrticle. Protect and serve, NYPD, protect and serve.
