Ice-T and his wife Coco land a deal with E! for a new reality show. They’re joking, right?
Remember Ice-T? So it turns out he’s still alive, and what’s more, coming out with a new reality show. The rapper/actor and co-author of The Ice Effect: Who Gives a Fuck? will, according to E!, be following in the footsteps of TV couples such as Desi and Lucy or Ozzy and Sharon, by being half of a soon-to-be-classic unconventional pairing. Of course his beautiful (or, as E! says, bootylicious) wife, Coco Marie, will be the second half, continuing her role as “the heart and soul of the family brand.” In related news, she has something called “Titty Tuesday.”
The show will obviously be great, although Tee (as his friends call him), promises that it won’t be full of drama like all those other ones out there (side note: Angelina from Jersey Shore is pregnant). The couple had full control of the show, and what they have shot is “crazy funny.”
Tee has had a storied career as a multi-media artist, so this new move comes as no surprise. Ever since his debut in 1984’s Breakin,’ and its sequel of the same year, Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo, he has conquered the performing arts with such groundbreaking films as Leprechaun: In the Hood and Tank Girl. Never one to be boxed in, Tee has also managed to partake in such varied projects as Mr. T’s motivational video, Be Somebody… or Be Somebody’s Fool and MADtv.
Did he play the Leprechaun?
Of course known best as a pioneer of the hip-hop game, the only question is how well the socio-political themes that originated in his old school beats will transfer to this reality medium. Obviously his support of gender equality will be expressed with his wife as well as it was on his first album when he exclaimed
[She] called us all punk pussies/said we all weren’t shit
As we walked over to her/hoe continued to speak
So we beat the bitch down in the god damn street
But we can only hope that those squares over at E! will allow Tee to express his raw animal power, as men—well, I’ll let him say it, since he did so best: “I can’t speak for women, but I know what men are about. I know about muthafuckin’ men. They want to fuck. Men are dogs. They would like to sniff it and fuck it, now if not sooner.”
I, for one, am waiting excitedly for the debut, and anyone who is not, can—well I’ll let him say it, since he did so best when speaking of Soulja Boy Tell ‘em: “Eat a Dick!”
The show premieres June 12th at 10:30 pm …after the Kardashians
Here is a a clip that resembles what the show will look like:
